He started out as an actor in regional theatre in 1985, performing in many productions, including Sweeney Todd (Tobias), Chicago (Emcee), Evita (Magaldi u/s), 42nd Street (Billy) and She Loves Me (Arpad), and later performed in his original musical theatre productions including The Garden (2004) and The Traveler’s Eye (1998–2001). From 1991 to 1994, Adam attended The Mannes College of Music in their certification program, majoring in Composition with additional studies in Early Music. He had several premieres of his work in New York, including, his song cycle One Life/Many Lives, based on the poetry of Sandra Cisneros, The Queen’s Garden, a chamber work for 8 instruments, and Fight the Forgotten, (string quartet).

His concert performances include the NY premiere of the 17th-Century cantata “L’anima del Purgatorio” by Stradella at St. Ignatius directed by Bradley Brookshire; “Departure” and “Bassoon Suite” of David Tcimpidis at Music Under Construction in NY, and an all Chopin/Rachmaninoff solo concert with Phillip Dieckow. He arranged Tarquinio Merula's great Curtio Precipitato for soprano, baritone and harpsichord and performed it with Kimberly Hobson and Louis Scarpa at Waterfront Hall in Hoboken, NJ.

As an independent record producer, he has been engineer, editor and producer of five audio recordings, including J. Nelson Ramsey’s “Exposure,” and the new release of Anonymous 4 member, Ruth Cunningham’s “Light & Shadow.” He has produced two short promotional films for the artist Dorothy Black, “Blue Alpha,” and “Horizon” – for which he also wrote and performed the score. He continues to perform both in concert and in theatre, while working as a vocal coach and voice teacher.
